1 Life Saved
August 2022 - K9 Bandit's life was saved after experiencing a life-threatening emergency while on duty.
Just months before, we had provided assistance to K9 Bandit and his handler, ensuring they knew they could reach out whenever needed. That moment came when Bandit's handler called us while rushing him to an emergency veterinarian - K9 Bandit was suffering from a severe heat stroke. We remained by the handler's side throughout the ordeal, offering support every step of the way.
After three days of hospitalization, K9 Bandit's condition was improving but his veterinary bills were skyrocketing. With emergency funds running low, the agency was struggling to cover the costs. At just two years old, K9 Bandit had youth on his side, but his full recovery depended on extended hospital care.
That's when we stepped in. We assured the handler that finances would not be a barrier to Bandit's treatment. We shared his story across social media, and our incredible supporters rallied together. We told the handler to keep Bandit in the hospital as long as necessary - we would cover 100% of his medical expenses.
After nine days of intensive care, multiple plasma transfusion, and round-the-clock treatment, K9 Bandit was finally discharge. Today, he has made a full recovery and is back on duty, protecting his community and taking criminals off the streets!
We are incredibly proud of K9 Bandit and honored to have played a role in his journey. We will always have his six.
